BASEF created Student Advisor positions to allow students to share their perspectives and contribute to the planning and organization of the annual fair. We encourage students to apply for one of these positions.  Taking part in collaborative committee decision making is an excellent learning opportunity.

This opportunity is available to any student from a BASEF region school board or home school.  Applicants must have participated in at least one BASEF event in the past.  Applicants must be attending school in person or online in Grade 8 to 12; they are encouraged to consider competing in the next BASEF although this is not required.

Details of the Student Advisor position:

  • Student Advisors are appointed for a one-year term (and can reapply for additional terms).
  • Are expected to attend the monthly BASEF Organizing Committee meetings up until the fair in March. Meets are held on a weekday evening.  For 2023/2024 some meetings are held virtually by Zoom and some meetings may be in person.
  • Will be credited with volunteer hours.
